Residents of Gaza faced another day of violence on Monday as Israeli forces conducted multiple strikes across the territory. Medical sources and local media reported that at least four Palestinians were killed in these attacks. A fifth individual died from injuries sustained in a separate incident the previous day.

In southern Khan Younis, two people were killed during a gun attack and an air raid. A third victim died after a drone struck the central village of al-Musaddar. The fourth casualty was identified by the Wafa news agency as Hani Hamed Kahil, who was killed in a strike on a vehicle in the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood of northern Gaza City. Five others were wounded in that specific attack.

The Israeli military stated that its forces targeted Palestinian fighters in three strikes but offered no additional details. Wafa reported that Youssef Abu Younis, who died on Monday, had been injured during an Israeli attack on a police post in al-Mawasi on Sunday. His death raised the total number of fatalities reported on Monday to five. Earlier in the day, at least five Palestinian police officers were killed in the Sunday attack.

In the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City, three Palestinians were wounded when a minibus belonging to a community kitchen was hit. The Palestinian Ministry of Health said that at least 1,593 Palestinians have been killed and 5,748 wounded since the United States-brokered ceasefire began in October 2025. The ministry counted a total of at least 74,609 Palestinians killed and 175,872 wounded across the conflict.

These strikes occurred as officials worked to secure shelter for displaced Palestinians before winter. Nickolay Mladenov, the high representative of the Board of Peace established by the US, arrived in Israel on Monday. Israeli Army Radio reported that Mladenov sought permission to transport tents into the territory and push for accelerated reconstruction steps.

The United Nations migration agency stated on October 9 that nearly two million people in Gaza required shelter assistance. The agency noted that half of the territory's tents and makeshift shelters needed replacing, leaving many families exposed to the approaching cold season.
