Rapper Plies became visibly emotional while observing Black women casting ballots at his local polling place on Election Day. The artist, known for the track "Buss It Baby," shared a video on social media that captures his reaction to the turnout.
In the footage, Plies stated that seeing the women engage in the voting process moved him to tears. He described the experience as more than just observing a civic duty. "All women in general are amazing but its something about my sista’s man, I just wanna tell y’all," he said. "Walking in that place and seeing y’all give y’all services, that sh*t really just chokes me up."
Plies emphasized the specific impact of the women's presence. "It just reminded me how amazing y’all really are, how caring y’all really are, how invested y’all really are, and just how much y’all just always on the frontline," he added. His comments focused on the dedication and visibility of these voters within the precinct.
The Florida-based musician has previously discussed his views on public matters. This particular video offered a more personal perspective on his interaction with the community at the polling station. He noted that he wanted the women to know their efforts were noticed.
Plies arrived at the polling place to exercise his own right to vote. While he cast his ballot, he spent additional time acknowledging the women who were also participating in the election. The video serves as a record of his reaction to their participation in the democratic process on that specific day.
