Heidi Klum hosted the 25th annual edition of her New York Halloween party on Saturday, appearing in a costume designed to resemble a giant, severed human hand. The event marked the quarter-century milestone for the gathering, which has become a fixture of the city's autumn social calendar.

Klum described the makeup process as lengthy, stating it took five to six hours to complete the transformation. She noted that the physical construction of the prop required even more time. The prosthetic piece was notably heavy, which Klum identified as the most difficult aspect of wearing the outfit throughout the evening.

The design focused on Klum's own left hand, featuring long red nails, a thumb ring, and her engagement and wedding bands. A tattoo of her husband's name was included on the ring finger, along with detailed palm lines and veins. Klum said the costume concept originated last year when she considered fitting her body inside a hand shape.

"I looked at my hand and I thought, 'Hey, I think I could fit my body in this somehow,'" Klum said. She also shared that the hardest part was carrying the weight of the prop. "Hands down, the hardest thing is carrying it," she added. "It's quite heavy."

Musical artist Tom Kaulitz, Klum's husband, did not attend the party because he was on tour. Despite his absence, Klum noted that his presence was symbolically included in the costume details. "A little bit of Tom is with me," she said. Helpers in blood-stained hazmat suits assisted Klum during the event.

The supermodel previously went viral in 2022 for arriving at the party in a worm costume suspended by a fishing line. Other past appearances have included a Medusa, a peacock, an 8-foot-tall Transformer, a werewolf, a clone, and the Hindu goddess Kali. Klum posted images of the bloodied prosthetics being applied to her face on Instagram earlier in the day.
