Portland exceeded two inches of rainfall in October, a monthly total the weather team did not anticipate reaching until one week ago. The city received much more precipitation than forecasters predicted earlier in the month.
A Frost Advisory remains active until 9 a.m. on Saturday. Clearing skies are expected to allow temperatures to fall into the 30s during the early morning hours.
Residents can expect mostly sunny conditions on Halloween. Clouds will gradually increase from the south throughout the day. The chance of rain during the evening is less than 10 percent. Temperatures during trick-or-treating hours will range from 45 to 55 degrees.
Daylight Saving Time ends at midnight on Sunday. This shift moves sunset times in Portland into the 4 o’clock hour. Sunday will feature sunny skies and seasonable weather with high temperatures in the mid-50s.
The first week of November will begin with a narrow high pressure ridge. Highs are forecast to reach the upper 50s and low 60s. Conditions will include a mix of sun and clouds. Forecasters expect dry weather to persist through at least Wednesday. A cutoff low pressure system may bring light showers to the latter half of the week if it remains north of the jet stream.
