Jimmy Fallon hosted a segment on Wednesday night that blended comedy with a direct reference to a popular film. He invited Jamie Lee Curtis to appear as a guest, using the setting to mimic the style of the documentary 'You Can See Everything.' The sketch centered on a conversation between the host and the actress, who adopted a specific persona for the bit.

Fallon portrayed a version of Nathan Fielder, the filmmaker behind the documentary. He asked Curtis if she was being honest about her desire to be on the program. Curtis wore a blonde wig and maintained intense eye contact while answering. She replied, "Of course I do. I love talking to you," mirroring the mannerisms of Elizabeth Holmes.

The host pressed the point, asking if her presence was solely to promote her new series, 'Newlyweds.' Curtis responded that she was engaging with him "as a human being." She continued, "Why would I deceive you? There's no reason for me to do that. There's nothing for me to deceive you on." This dialogue echoed the interrogation style used in the film.

Fallon concluded the exchange by asking if she was being real. Curtis stated, "I'm always being real." After Fallon walked away, she dropped the character and shouted a profane remark toward him. The cold open of the show established that Curtis was there to promote her NBC sitcom, which premiered on Oct. 23.

'Newlyweds' stars Téa Leoni and Tim Daly. The series is described as a later-in-life love story about a free-spirited woman and a buttoned-up professor who marry impulsively after a quick courtship. Curtis co-created the show with Gail Lerner and holds a recurring guest star role.

Lerner was removed from the project earlier this month due to creative differences. When the news broke, she called the experience "the most joyous TV experience of my life." The documentary being parodied opened in theaters on Oct. 16 and has grossed $45.1 million domestically.

The film offers an in-depth look at the Theranos founder a month before she began an 11-year prison sentence for defrauding investors. Fielder and co-director Lance Oppenheim worked on the project for more than three years. The sketch served as a promotional tool for the sitcom while referencing a current cultural moment.
