Thirteen artists from across Kentucky have released a new album of protest songs to raise money for a local nonprofit. The compilation, titled Take It Back!, is now available on Bandcamp. All proceeds go to Kentucky Refugee Ministries, an organization that assists displaced people with resettlement and legal services.

The recording studio La La Land in Louisville produced the project. The studio stated that the album features original tracks recorded live in their facility. They noted that the collection includes folk, rock, hip-hop, punk, and bilingual Latin music. The songs address topics such as immigration raids, democracy, faith, and climate change.

Contributors to the album include 10th Street Dre and The Ministry of Truth, Houseplant, and Joe Clark. Other featured artists are LOUIE V Edsel, Mason Colby, and mothbaby. Yapa!, Glenn Davis, and Nick Teale also contributed tracks. The list continues with Precious Perez, StellAura, The Histrionics, and Hex Hex Hex.

La La Land described the project as a way to amplify community voices. The studio said the release supports immigrants and defends human dignity. They emphasized that the songs were created to answer the current moment in the artists' own voices.

Kentucky Refugee Ministries partners with faith-based groups to help refugees integrate into Kentucky communities. The organization provides legal aid and support services to displaced individuals. The album offers a way for listeners to support these efforts through music.
