BEND, OR. Authorities released a 911 recording Tuesday from Kaylub Giamanco, the man who shot and killed a 16-year-old student inside an elementary school in Oregon.

The incident occurred on Oct. 15 at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend. Griffin J. John II, a student, forced his way through locked doors into the building. He killed three children and a teacher in a special needs classroom. One other student was critically injured and a second teacher was hospitalized.

Giamanco was driving home for lunch when he spotted the shooter. He called 911 and told the operator that there was someone with a gun at his daughter's school. In the recording, he states, "I have a gun and I swill shoot them right now."

The operator urged him to wait for an officer, but Giamanco grew frustrated. He told the dispatcher, "I'm about to go kill this kid." Moments later, he reported that the shooter was entering the building and firing.

The call ended after the operator attempted to gather more information. Giamanco then entered the school through an open window. He opened the classroom door and fired his gun, dropping the shooter to the floor.

A teacher had attempted to stop John before Giamanco arrived. The teacher's intervention occurred just before Giamanco breached the classroom entrance.
