Resident life in the West Bank changed on Monday when police confirmed the discovery of a body in the Wadi Rahal area near Bethlehem. The deceased is a man in his 40s who lived in east Jerusalem. Officers, forensic investigators, and IDF soldiers collected evidence at the scene before the body was moved to the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute. Initial police findings describe the incident as a criminal matter rather than a terror-related event.

Security forces conducted a series of arrests in the same region over the preceding weekend. On Sunday night, Israeli police detained a Palestinian resident of Bethlehem suspected of ties to Hamas. This was part of a broader military activity that resulted in three total arrests. Officers searched the home of the suspected operative and one other resident suspected of possessing weapons. During these searches, forces confiscated a loaded hunting rifle, IDF uniforms, and various technological items.

The two suspects from the Bethlehem raids were transferred to the Ma'ale Adumim police station. They face charges for carrying and possessing illegal weapons as well as unauthorized possession of military equipment. In a separate action, officers arrested a man in his 30s near Hebron. He was found with a hunting rifle and a large quantity of ammunition.

A major weapons cache was uncovered in Kalansuwa, a majority-Arab city in central Israel. Police and Border Police officers found the stash during an operation aimed at reducing violent crime in the Arab sector. The seizure included one Kalashnikov rifle, three M-16 assault rifles, eight handguns, six fragmentation grenades, and two stun grenades. Officers also recovered thousands of rounds of ammunition and three tactical vests. A police explosives expert handled the grenades at the scene.

Two family members present during the Kalansuwa raid were arrested and taken for questioning. Police submitted all seized items as potential evidence. In the city of Rahat, police rescued a man found chained to the floor of a home during a weapons search. Preliminary findings indicate his family members shackled his leg to the floor due to drug use. His brother was arrested and taken to the Rahat police station for questioning.

The investigation into the Kalansuwa weapons cache remains ongoing. The next step for the east Jerusalem victim is a formal autopsy to determine the specific cause of death.
